Convergys, the global leader in customer experience outsourcing, inaugurates its first customer service center in Mauritius

Convergys, the global provider of customer experience outsourcing, today, celebrated the inauguration of its new site in Ebène, becoming the first BPO provider dedicated to customer services to establish operations in Mauritius.

From this new customer service center, Convergys already employs over 100 people to handle customer service calls for a major French online retailer.

The inauguration was attended by local dignitaries, including the honourable Yogida Sawmynaden, Minister of Technology, Communication and Innovation, Ken Poonoosamy, Managing Director, Board of Investment, members of Convergys’ EMEA and local leadership teams, as well as senior client executives.

Congratulating Convergys, the honourable Yogida Sawmynaden said “The development of infrastructure and connectivity with major global economic centers make Mauritius "the Digital Island" and a platform of excellence for ICT and BPO.  It is pleasing that so many large international companies have chosen to invest in Mauritius, and have settled successfully on the island.
